Your elected leaders will decide the fate of Legion Community Park!
In reaction to the Council petition written by Council member Michael Parker and signed by four more members—Karen Stegman, Tai Huynh, Camille Berry, and Paris Miller-Foushee, we in the Working Group are organizing to be ready for their promised actions. They propose to (1) sell off the front acreage of the Legion property for commercial development and (2) use wooded acreage for housing. The latter action would require clearcutting the woods. Since these five members are a majority of the Council, our actions need to concentrate on these members. The Legion Park discussion and vote may come before the Council as early as September. The need for action is urgent!
